Isn't it funny how most people go to UK/Europe and come back with lots of handbags and stuff. I went there and only bought scented products and stones! These are some crystals I bought at Honister Pass, Lake District.
I was just browsing through the folder when I saw these stones and decided to play with them. Put them in a bowl of water and saw how the colours of the agate seemed magnified. So I took out the camera and did some close-up work. Am still not too happy with the reflection of the flash/ fluorescent light. Maybe I'll do another session in the daytime and see how it goes.

Citrine, rose quartz and agate.
Not too much detail on a rose quartz. I just tried to capture the patterns inside.
Another tricky stone. How do you bring out the beauty within? Background lighting?
The colours seem to pop out more on a blue background, compared to white.
But the honey brown floor gives better contrast. Tried to capture the striations in the stone. Pity about the imperfections. Well, it's just a souvenir, not a jewellery piece, right?
Again, the distracting flash of light. Layers came out OK though.
