Father and Son

Disclaimer: I don't know these people. This is just a random shot I took at the waterfall.

A bit blurry. Took it from quite a distance using my 100-200mm lens. I like the water droplets glistening in the air, and the expression on the dad's face. People have never been my favourite subjects, but sometimes it's worth the effort :)

Rivers and Light

Things I learned yesterday :
1. Tripods (or monopods) REALLY help to reduce camera shake. Use them as much as possible.
2. I love colours, but monos can sometimes bring out the feel of the subject better.
3. Use manual focus if auto is being uncooperative.

Rajah Brookes on the Wing

Only two halfway decent shots I managed to get of the Rajah Brooke birdwing butterflies that were present yesterday. I have always wanted to take photos of these beauties. But yesterday they were skittishly flitting about and didn't rest near where I sat. So these were all I got using super fast shutter speed (1/800) and ISO 400 on AV setting. They were dark, but autocorrect helped to make them visible. Colours etc. are still off. Hope I get another chance to capture these soon.

Dragons Day

Went with the Photo Group to Sg Chilling yesterday to take water photos. Of course I ended up taking insect photos, lah kan? I so love being able to take close ups like this now...

A couple more dragonflies taken yesterday.

Bridge to Nowhere

This was taken last year, during Ramadhan. We were attending a Qiamullail session at Masjid Besi and arrived early. Just after performing Asr at Masjid Putrajaya. We sat on a bench by the lake and I tried to capture some photos. The sun on the water was promising but I couldn't get anything that worked, so I gave up on it. Just edited this a few days ago. I guess the most interesting thing about this bridge is that it leads nowhere! It seems too narrow for cars. It could be for a monorail or cables... I don't know.
