Challenges

Joined a friend's macro class last weekend, in the capacity of guinea pig. It was quite interesting, despite the knowledge that I am far too lazy to bother with multiple flash setups, diffuser, magnifier and other gizmos.
Stopped at the Denai Alam small lake on the way back, hoping to score on the waterbird that I knew hid in the vegetation. Unfortunately, it came out a bit too early, just as I stepped near the lake. I wasn't ready AT ALL to shoot. But from the wing pattern, I'm guessing that it's a Malaysian Night Heron, a lifer for me.
Gingerly walked around the end of the lake and chanced upon a few munias in the tangle of reed and bushes. Tried my best to get a good shot, but they all turned out blurry. So sad!! The monopod is not a great substitute for the tripod on days when your hands are all shaky :(
Will have to keep trying and honing my skills. FRIM this weekend, insya Allah.
